Well, you see, he realized that she was actually ready to fight the damn Thorkell the Giant himself. He just appreciated her warrior spirit. You can say that her determination gave him all of the emotions of a good fight. He respects people who are not afraid of a fight. I guess he got even more respect for a woman who was not afraid to fight him.

So is this thing ever gonna finish? we're still on the Baltic Sea War arc it seems and we haven't even gotten to Vinland yet after 14 years, let alone going through the hassle of building a nation. Either the guy will be writing this well into his 90's or the pacing is gonna get fucked.
